He was a standout performer throughout the entire preseason campaign for the Red Devils as his creative play gave constant fuel to the United attack.
One of his best showings so far was this past weekend against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield. Replacing Michael Carrick after the first half allowed Cleverly to once again show that he is more than capable of standing toe to toe with the top competition in the league.
His performance played him right onto a spot with the English national team, and although he did not get to make his debut this week thanks to the public unrest that is sweeping the country, he remains one of the brightest midfield prospects to come out of Manchester in years.
