Searching for Suarez

Ajax Amsterdam Calling for Increased bid for Liverpool Transfer Target Luis Suarez

Another day into the Luis Suarez courtship with Ajax Amsterdam has Liverpool continually frustrated. It has been a tough January transfer market for the Reds as they look to add a strike partner for Fernando Torres. The inflation of transfer prices in the last several years thanks to the likes of Real Madrid, and now truly thanks to Manchester City, is causing higher and higher player values and requiring more and more funds.

Liverpool have reportedly tabled offers from £12.7 Million to £15 Million according to Goal.com and also through listing on Liverpool's official site. However, this is seen as insult by the Amsterdam giants who have their captain valued at nearly £25-30 Million. This price can only be seen as a result of inflation, and  the longer the wait for the deal to go through the less likely Ajax will have time to bring in a replacement which has Liverpool truly under the gun to push this through in the next couple of days at the latest.

This mornings reversal in the Ryan Babel move that will now see him go to German side TSG Hoffenheim and bring in another £7 Million to the club, and also the reported interest of VfL Wolfsburg in forward Milan Jovanovic of around £6 Million could see the Reds an additional £13 Million to add to their transfer fund with part of it looking towards sweetening the deal for the Uruguayan hitman.

The longer the talks go on the more and more likely it appears that a move for Suarez may have to wait until the summer if at all. Ajax are reportedly upset with the lower offerings from Liverpool, however, the striker still has the ability to table his own transfer request which would possible help push the deal forward in the next several days.
